Current Stock Balance

1. Overview & Purpose

What is Current Stock Balance?
Stock Balance delivers real-time visibility into physical and available inventory across every branch, retail outlet, warehouse storage bin, and item batch. It tracks physical on-hand stock, active reservations, incoming shipments, average costs (HPP), and perishable expiration dates.

2. When to Use Stock Balance

Multi-Branch Stock Inquiry for Omnichannel / Walk-In Customers

A walk-in customer at Mall Kelapa Gading wants to buy 3 units of an out-of-stock sneaker, and the sales associate checks if the nearby Grand Indonesia branch has stock.

Recommended Action:Filter Stock Balance by SKU to view real-time on-hand, reserved, and available quantities across all enterprise retail outlets simultaneously.

Negative Stock Auditing in High-Velocity Retail Counters

During high-traffic weekend sales, items are sold at POS before warehouse personnel finish digital Goods Receipt logging under "Allow Negative Stock" mode.

Recommended Action:Filter the balance view for negative on-hand quantities to pinpoint unregistered inbound delivery shipments that must be posted immediately.

Perishable Batch Expiry Tracking (FEFO - First Expired, First Out)

Quality control inspects dairy, bakery, or cosmetic batches nearing shelf-life expiration thresholds (e.g. less than 14 days remaining).

Recommended Action:Use the Near Expiry filter to isolate expiring lots, prompting store managers to initiate 50% discount markdowns or return claims before expiry.

Storage Bin Capacity & Reorder Buffer Monitoring

Warehouse coordinators monitor frontline picking bins to ensure fast-moving SKUs are replenished from high-bay bulk reserve pallet racks before running dry.

Recommended Action:Filter by specific Storage Bin to monitor stock levels against configured minimum safety thresholds and generate internal transfer requisitions.

Active Sales Order Reservation & Available to Promise (ATP) Inspection

Wholesale sales reps verify how many units can be promised to a new client without stealing stock already reserved for existing pending Delivery Orders.

Recommended Action:Inspect the "Available Stock" column (Physical On-Hand minus Active Order Reservations) to quote accurate delivery commitments to commercial buyers.
